Hello! Welcome to our first ever post! And for this, we should all say..
..because this is really nerve wrecking. Writing here and creating a blog of our group. Those stuffs. Hahaha. Daesung at its finest, yeah? Let's start the ball rolling.. We will first give an insight to why we've chosen the group name "GNEISS". WAE? WAE?! WAE?!!
Doojoon so cute~ And to answer you my dear readers, we've chosen the name GNEISS because of these reasons:
(GNEISS is likely pronounced as "nice". MCs always get confused on how to pronounce it. It's not Genesis. Huhu. It's NICE. We're NICE. Aw. You can check the pronunciation here http://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/pronunciation/british/gneiss)
You all know that GNEISS is a high grade metamorphic rock, don't you? But if you really don't, then NOW YOU KNOW! Well, GNEISS is a metamorphic rock meaning that it has been subjected to higher temperatures and pressures than schist. It is formed by the metamorphosis of granite or sedimentary rock. And just like GNEISS, the group is consisted of members with different personalities, different outlooks in life, different abilities, different complexities and different priorities. But we've gathered and formed this group because of the same passion and interest -- KPOP and dancing. We are not just your typical cover group, we are a family from different walks of life united and re-united as one in sharing our passion for dancing as much vigor as our IDOL Group/s. We value all the troubles we had encountered and treasure most the fun memories we gained as we pursue our passion for dancing. Because we believe that "Life doesn't get easier. You just get stronger." We're as hard as gneiss but we're NICE! ;)
Also, gneiss is an old German word that means bright or sparkling.
So we're hard as gneiss rock but at the same time we are also bright/sparkling. Hahaha. Our personalities may all be different but we're pretty sure that once we're on stage, expect for those big smiles from us. That's us.. We enjoy performing a lot and by enjoying it means we are all ready to share our HAPPINESS!

- And lastly, we've chosen this group name to have a fresh start. We've been under so many group names already. And it's pretty tiring to change again and again. We've started performing and joining to Cebu KPOP Cover Group Contests since 2013. We first started performing under "District Soul" then followed by "Black Society" then later on changed to "G2DD". And finally after nearly two years of constantly changing our group name, hopefully and yes, we think, this will be our permanent group name. What do you think? ^-^
